Variety notes - Winter wheat
« Back
  • Gatsby is a specific recommendation for growers wanting a variety with genetic resistance to orange wheat blossom midge with good agronomic characters, especially disease resistance.

  • Gatsby is a soft-milling nabim Group 4 feed.

  •  Provisionally classified as uks soft wheat but is not accepted by the distilling industry.

  • It has a relatively low treated yield potential than other Group 4 varieties but it has a number of compensating features.

  • Good resistance to yellow rust, brown rust, Septoria nodorum and Septoria tritici. Above average resistance to mildew.

  • One of only three varieties on the list with a resistance rating of 7 for Septoria tritici.

  • Resistant to orange wheat blossom midge.

  • A slow developing variety.
