Seed bed cultivation will effect the movement of water and nutrients in the soil. Management can maintain nutrients in the soil, help manage weeds, recycle green waste, minimise fertiliser and herbicide inputs and reduce the risk of water pollution.
Soil Information Gateway
To complement existing provision on soil management, the Agriculture and Horticulture Research Forum (AHRF) Soil Information Gateway champions the soil-related achievements of more than fifteen pioneering farmers. It also highlights tips, solutions and strategies that address problems such as erosion, compaction and poaching. The case studies illustrate how growers from different sectors have tackled soil management issues.
