Ukranian Export Restrictions Lifted

According to Reuters the Ukraine government has lifted restrictions on Ukranian feed grain exports following the threat of of mass protests from producers.  Exact details are unclear but, restrictions still remain on "food grain" exports.

Export quotas were first introduced in October 2007 with amendments made in March 2008 allowing maize exports.

The Ukranian government estimate a maximum of 2.5Mt of grain will be available for export in 2007/08, with an estimated 1.4Mt of shipments completed so far.
