Background to HGCAs involvement in the barley fungicide performance trials
HGCA has been supporting fungicide performance trials on barley since 1993. New fungicides and varieties have been added to the trials throughout the years to ensure the data generated in relevant for today's grower. Changes in fungicide activity as a consequence of fungicide resistance and changes in pathogen population mean that new information is required on existing fungicides, to determine stability in efficacy over the lifetime of a new fungicide. As a generous data archive has been established over the year's results from current trials can be compared with previous data to determine at an early stage if activity has changed.
