Variety notes - Spring and Autumn Wheat

  • Chablis is a nabim Group 2 variety.

  • In late autumn sown trials, Chablis has given yields 5% below the winter wheat variety Einstein but with better grain quality characteristics: high protein content, Hagberg falling number and specific weight.

  • In spring-sown trials it has been around 8% below Tybalt but with better protein content.

  • It is relatively weak-strawed from both late autumn and spring sowings.

  • It has good resistance to yellow rust and above average resistance to brown rust and Septoria tritici .

  • No longer in RL trials.
