REMIT OF HGCA ADVISORY COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN
To define, in collaboration with the Director and other industry personnel as appropriate, the guiding objectives and strategic direction for the Committee's sphere of activity. In the case of the Vice Chairman of the R&D Advisory Committee, who chairs both the Knowledge Transfer and Evaluation Committees, their remit is the same as that described below.
To present to both Committee and Board plans and proposals that address the strategic objectives of the Committee.
To develop and prepare, in conjunction with the Director, the Annual Business Plan for approval by the Committee including proposals for the expenditure budget and to ensure regular reviews of progress are conducted against the defined objectives.
To lead and manage committee meetings to ensure a balanced debate so that well founded decisions are reached.
To attend all Board meetings to report progress made by the committee and inform debate on the future direction and level of all HGCA activities.
To represent the Committee through participation at events aimed at the target audiences for its activities.
To inform levypayers, through relevant channels, of the range of services and information generated and disseminated by HGCA in support of the industry.
To report regularly to stakeholder organisations, particular the one that they represent, the progress and success of HGCA in supporting the industry.
To ensure that suitable and appropriate candidates are identified and developed to take on the role of chairman at the required time
