UK weekly harvest report
Harvest of winter barley and oilseed rape started about 7-10 days later than normal with about 40% of the winter barley and almost 20% of the winter oilseed rape area harvested by 31 July, mostly in southern England. Winter linseed has also been harvested. Soils and crops have dried well in the spell of hot dry weather in the last week of July with little grain drying required. Concerns are building over the level of fusarium present in wheat and to a lesser extent spring barley and oats.
