Updated oilseed rape guide issued by HGCA
Following a challenging season for oilseed rape production, HGCA has issued a timely update of its popular oilseed rape guide to help growers plan for a productive harvest in 2013.
Originally published in 2005, the HGCA Oilseed rape guide has been revised to include information on the main lessons learnt from HGCA’s extensive oilseed rape research programme over the last seven years.
The guide represents a one-stop-shop for oilseed rape agronomy and will act as an essential reference source for all growers of this increasingly popular crop.
The publication covers all the main areas associated with the growth of this crop – from understanding the market and its requirements to harvest and storage – and signposts to a wide range of further reference sources.
Information contained in the guide will help put growers in a strong position to work with the challenges of the UK climate and deliver the best possible yields in 2013.
The HGCA Oilseed rape guide is available in electronic format and hardcopies will be mailed out by post later this month.
As I write oilseed rape is not yet all in full flower and winter wheat crops have not yet all had a T1 fungicide.
