Arable Business Groups

What is an Arable Business Group?

An Arable Business Group is a group of growers that want to:

  • Improve Business Management skills
  • Understand costs of production
  • Investigate pricing strategies
  • Share information
  • Focus on relevant issues affecting their business
  • Make efficient use of industry experts

Arable Business Groups are part of HGCA’s Business Development programme, Reaping Rewards, and are also established to support HGCA Monitor Farms.

Benefits of being part of an Arable Business Group

The HGCA-facilitated group discussions help growers work together to identify best practice and focus on issues relevant to the group.

Being part of an HGCA Arable Business Group will give you, the grower, access to CropBench+, HGCA’s levy-funded web-based benchmarking tool. This will be the initial focus of your group meetings and will allow you to make confidential cost comparisons to group, regional and national data.

Where the group has interest in a specific topic, HGCA can supply an expert speaker to come and talk to the group.

Getting involved

Groups who wish to register as an Arable Business Group should contact their Regional Manager. Following registration a representative from HGCA can come and talk to the group about what is involved.

Existing Arable Business Groups include those in the following areas:
