What BCE does

In the UK, cereal farmers, traders and processors fund the HGCA to provide service to the cereals industry.

These services include market information, promotion of exports, cereal production development and the funding of research and development.

BCE

BCE is part of HGCA promoting exports of UK cereals as whole grain. Its activities are guided by a committee of growers and traders.

BCE provides a link between overseas customers and the cereals sector, supplying independent information on the UK cereal industry.

BCE Events

Biscuit making workshop - 5th - 6th March 2013

Biscuit makers and millers from North Africa participated in a two-day biscuit making workshop hosted by BCE, HGCA's export team.

Nine sector specialists attended the event, designed to promote the functionality of uks - a classification of wheat from the UK suitable for biscuit making.

Sessions during the workshop informed the delegates from Algeria, Morocco and Lebanon on aspects such as quality specifications, export classifications and future prospects.  The event allowed delegates to make their own biscuits using uks wheat.  This workshop was important for millers and biscuit manufacturers to learn, reasearch and use uks for themselves.
