Fungicides

Fungicides can give very good control of sclerotinia but they are "protectants" and timing is critical.

The optimum timing is usually early petal fall, (mid-flowering) but early to mid-flowering timings have given good results

Decisions to use fungicides should consider

  1. yield loss (10% plants attacked = 5% yield loss)
  2. benefits to future cropping by reducing build-up of the disease.
