Core & Satellite sites

Ten sites have been identified in Britain, ranging from Elgin in Morayshire 
to Whitfield in Kent. All sites are representative of different soil types and
conditions. Five of these are ‘core sites’ and include relevant HGCA-funded
trials already in situ. The remaining five ‘satellite’ sites are largely based on
‘volunteered’ farms – some of which are trying non-inversion tillage for the
first time.

Cropping History
Variety:
Various - Split fields – half ploughed and half non-inversion tilled - have had small plot trials superimposed. The trials involve mostly 1st and 2nd wheats. Commercial crops adjacent to the trials have been established with non-inversion tillage.
