• Mascot is a nabim group 1 variety

• nabim reports that although Mascot achieved Group 1 status in 2007, only low volumes were available commercially last year. Its baking performance is good but certain characteristics could be negative in certain baking processes and as such it is possible that not all businesses will value the variety equally. Although its yield is lower than Solstice it can produce higher proteins

• Classified as ukp bread wheat for export

• Yield potential is 2% below Solstice but tends to give higher proteins

• Susceptible to brown rust
