Xi19

  • Xi19 is a high yielding nabim Group 1 variety specifically recommended for the East region, where it yields around 4% higher than Solstice

  • nabim reports that Xi19 tends to produce lower protein at high yields and that correct agronomic management is important. It has performed consistently in breadmaking tests. Low protein consignments are unlikely to be accepted by all millers

  • On average Xi19 has given protein contents 0.5% below Solstice and requires additional nitrogen fertiliser to reach the same protein content

  • Classified as ukp bread wheat. Meets the specifications of the export brand and has support from end-users

  • It has a relatively low specific weight

  • Has long, weak straw which requires careful management

  • A fast developing variety when sown very early but has a slower rate of development from later sowings

  • Good resistance to yellow rust
