Farmhouse Breakfast Week is an annual campaign run by HGCA which has been running since the year 2000. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the benefits of eating a healthy breakfast and demonstrate the variety of breakfast foods available in the UK.
Farmhouse Breakfast Week 2013 will take place 20 – 26 January and we are encouraging the farming community to get involved! It’s a great opportunity to promote your produce to the end consumer. You could invite people for a tour of your farm, visit a local school and talk to the children about where breakfast foods come from or link up with other businesses in your community and hold a breakfast event for local people. If you attend a Farmers Market or have a Farm Shop you could consider offering a promotion during the week on your breakfast products.

Say the word “cereal” and most people think of breakfast. In fact, cereals are defined as the edible seeds or grains of the grass family, gramineae and they make up a very important part of our daily diet, not only at breakfast time! About a third of the energy and a third of the protein in a typical British diet come from cereals. More information can be found here
