Pest research
Overview
“Pest outbreaks can be hard to predict as conditions vary from season to season. For this reason, pest monitoring programmes are a high priority for HGCA, especially after the recently enforced restriction on neonicotinoids. Monitoring insecticide resistance is also a key research aim for HGCA as well as other sectors of AHDB.”

Focus on: pest monitoring
HGCA pest monitoring delivers timely information to help growers deal with pests. Research continues to improve monitoring as it provides risk models and incorporates information about insecticide resistance statuses. HGCA research comprises a number of pests including, wheat bulb fly, pollen beetle, and aphids.
